This week, in the ternary cathode precursor market, the prices of 5-series for consumer electronics, 6-series for consumer electronics, and 8-series for NEV products were basically stable.

This week, in the ternary cathode precursor market, prices of 5-series for consumer electronics, 6-series for consumer electronics, and 8-series for NEV products remained basically stable.

In terms of raw material costs, nickel sulphate prices held steady, manganese sulphate prices declined slightly, while cobalt sulphate prices rebounded. There were no significant fluctuations in the prices of precursors across different series.

Demand side, the overall transaction sentiment in the market was relatively weak this week, with enterprises continuing to operate according to their production schedules and existing orders. Demand for small power and consumer-grade precursors has been good recently, with relatively active order signing. Orders for large power-grade precursors remained relatively stable. Supply side, affected by the prolonged losses in precursor products, enterprises had a strong sentiment to stand firm on quotes, and transaction prices remained firm. Considering the significant market fluctuations this year, producers of precursors for NEVs generally no longer signed long-term orders (such as six-month or one-year contracts), instead opting for monthly negotiations on discounts. Meanwhile, some manufacturers increased the discount coefficients for cobalt sulphate and nickel sulphate. For the consumer-grade precursor market, spot order transactions still dominated.

Looking ahead to next week, it is expected that sulphate prices will continue to rebound slightly, and precursor prices may rise slightly driven by the increase in raw material prices.
